Потребительские расходы США в июне выросли на 0,6% по сравнению с предыдущим месяцем. Об этом в понедельник сообщило Министерство торговли США. В мае расходы выросли на 0,8%.

Личные доходы в США в июне выросли с учетом коррекции на сезонные колебания на 0,1%. Это самый незначительный рост с апреля 2007 года, когда доходы оставались без изменения. Рост личных доходов за май был пересмотрен в сторону понижения и составил 1,8%, тогда как ранее сообщалось о росте на 1,9%.

Прогноз экономистов предполагал, что личные доходы в США в июне упали на 0,3%, а потребительские расходы – выросли на 0,5%.

WASHINGTON (Dow Jones)--Consumer spending jumped in June, boosted by the tax rebates provided by the economic stimulus package U.S. policymakers created earlier this year.

Personal consumption increased by 0.6% compared to the month before, the Commerce Department said Monday. May spending went up 0.8%.

Personal income increased at a seasonally adjusted rate of 0.1% compared to the month before. That was the smallest gain since the rate was reported unchanged in April 2007. Income rose 1.8% during May, revised from a previously estimated 1.9% increase.

had projected a 0.3% dip in personal income during June and a 0.5% climb in consumer spending.

Consumer spending makes up about 70% of U.S. gross domestic product, reflecting a big part of the economy. Climbing prices helped elevate spending last month. In fact, when adjusted for inflation, spending in June fell 0.2%.

Compared with a year earlier, the PCE price index climbed 4.1% in June.

The PCE price index excluding food and energy, known as the core PCE, rose 0.3% in June, after rising 0.2% in May. Year over year, it climbed 2.3% in June, after increasing 2.2% in May.

The Federal Reserve watches the year-over-year PCE price index excluding food and energy closely for signs of problematic inflation.

The latest Gross domestic product figures show that the economy grew modestly in the second quarter due to healthy exports and rebate checks provided by the economic stimulus package. Those payments, which began going out in late April, likely were a driver of the unadjusted 0.6% increase in June consumer spending reported Monday.
