The social network Twitter has introduced quantitative restrictions on viewing posts during the day. The news was announced by Elon Musk, the owner and CEO of the microblogging service.

In his message, he said: "To combat large-scale data downloading and manipulation of the system, we have introduced the following temporary restrictions: verified accounts are limited to reading 6000 messages per day, unverified accounts - up to 600, new unverified accounts - up to 300 per day."

By 22:30 Kyiv time, the post had already been viewed more than 120 million times. Later, Musk jokingly posted that the restrictions were imposed "due to reading all the restriction notifications."

The billionaire also added that the level of restrictions would soon be eased: for verified accounts, it would be raised to 8000 per day, for unverified accounts - to 800, and for newly registered accounts - to 400.

Earlier, the media reported that Twitter plans to require registration and authorization on the social network to view content posted on it.

It is also worth noting that in June, Musk announced that Twitter, which is to be renamed to X, would start paying verified content creators to include ads in their replies "in a few weeks".
