A slight decrease in water level is being recorded in the cooling pond at Zaporizhzhya NPP, but the situation is stable and under control, Energoatom reported on Monday.

It is noted that the water level in the ZNPP cooling pond remains stable, despite the Russian undermining of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power plant dam. As of 06:00 on July 3, the water level in the cooling pond decreased slightly and is 16.56 meters.

It is also noted that the water level in the channel through which the ZNPP pond is fed is 11.15 meters.

Energoatom noted that the water level in the canal has not changed recently and no longer depends on the Kakhovka reservoir.

As a reminder, Zaporizhzhia NPP units have not been operating since September 2022, so there is no active evaporation of water from the cooling pond. However, it is necessary to constantly monitor the water level to ensure the safe operation of the plant.

In general, the situation with a slight decrease in the water level in the ZNPP cooling pond is currently under control, and there is no threat to the safety and normal operation of the nuclear power plant.
