In connection with the destruction of the Kakhovka Hydroelectric Power Plant (HPP) by the Russians, UAH 4.3 billion was allocated from the state budget of Ukraine to overcome the consequences of this destructive action.

This was stated by Roksolana Pidlasa, chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Budget Committee.

At a meeting of the committee held on August 2, the committee approved the allocation of UAH 341.8 million from the fund for the elimination of the consequences of armed aggression for the Mykolaiv regional military administration.

These funds will be used to compensate for damaged and destroyed housing, restore damaged facilities, and for new construction.

Earlier, UAH 980.9 million was allocated for the Kherson Regional Military Administration for similar needs.

Pidlasa emphasized that more than UAH 2.8 billion has already been allocated from the fund for the elimination of armed aggression to overcome the consequences of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power plant explosion, of which UAH 1.5 billion was allocated to implement a pilot project for the construction of main water pipelines in the Dnipro and Zaporizhzhia regions.

Additionally, more than UAH 1.5 billion was allocated from the state budget reserve fund due to the destruction of the Kakhovka HPP. Of this amount, almost UAH 966 million was earmarked to provide drinking water to the population in the regions where there are problems with sustainable water supply, and UAH 565 million was allocated to provide financial assistance to the affected population.

Thus, in total, in 2023, more than UAH 4.3 billion has already been allocated from the state budget to overcome the consequences of the destruction of the Kakhovka HPP.
