The European Commission is looking for a solution to agricultural imports from Ukraine

The European Commission is in the process of negotiating with Ukraine and five neighboring countries on further imports of Ukrainian grain to the European Union after September 15. The initiative aims to find a solution to restrictions and provide security guarantees for grain supplies.

The European Commission's spokesperson for Trade and Agriculture, Miriam Garcia Ferrer, confirmed the talks and emphasized that no decision has been made yet. The European Commission monitors the import situation and checks import figures, publishing them monthly.

Restrictive measures on imports were introduced to provide time to solve problems and find a solution to grain supplies from Ukraine. The initiative is aimed at improving the transportation situation and ensuring the safety and stability of grain supplies to their destinations.

The issue of grain supplies from Ukraine is being addressed by a special coordination platform that has already held five meetings. The platform includes Ukraine, Moldova, and five neighboring countries, which are discussing with the European Commission ways to improve transportation capacity.

The European Commission spokesperson emphasized the importance of solving logistical problems and ensuring full solidarity and support for Ukraine. One of the main goals of the measures is to ensure reliable grain supplies to the European Union and world markets, thereby contributing to food security.

The European Commission continues to actively seek solutions to agricultural imports from Ukraine, working with neighboring countries and the Ukrainian side.
