The amount of assistance provided by the United States to Ukraine is at the highest level compared to other countries. This information was published by The Washington Post on the basis of information from the League.

According to the newspaper, the total amount of aid from the United States to Ukraine is $66.2 billion, of which $43.1 billion is military aid, $20.5 billion is economic support, and another $2.6 billion is humanitarian aid.

This figure exceeds the assistance provided by the United States to other countries and even exceeded the bilateral support of other US allies, including the largest recipients of support, such as Israel, Jordan and Egypt, the publication notes.

According to experts, this can actually be called "the US investment in its ally," which is the most significant of such aid since the Marshall Plan (indexed at about $150 billion over three years, adjusted for inflation).

The Washington Post provides examples of the scale of the assistance provided, pointing out that the amount of US aid to Ukraine exceeded the cost of Twitter ($44 billion), the James Webb Space Telescope ($10 billion), and the cost of the Biden administration's student loan plan ($39 billion).

It is noted that despite the fact that the United States is the largest donor to Ukraine, other countries have allocated a much larger percentage of their GDP to help Ukraine, the newspaper reports, citing the Kiel Institute for World Economics. For example, Europe spends a larger share of its GDP on Ukraine than the United States.
