Sales growth: Hybrid cars have become popular among Ukrainian drivers

In July 2023, Ukraine recorded a significant breakthrough in sales of hybrid passenger cars, reaching the highest level in the last 19 months. According to the Ukrautoprom industry association, more than 1,500 hybrid cars were added to the country's fleet that month.

This high sales activity of hybrid cars was confirmed in the new car market, where 62% of new purchases were hybrid models. Additionally, in the new passenger car segment, the share of hybrids amounted to 18% of total sales.

Toyota RAV-4 became the best-selling hybrid car with 266 units sold. Nissan Qashqai took second place in this ranking with 92 units sold. The third place was taken by Mercedes-Benz GLE with 60 sales.

At the same time, when it comes to imported used cars with hybrid powertrains, the leadership belonged to the Ford Fusion US with 71 sold cars. Further positions in the report were taken by the Ford C-Max with 46 units sold and the Toyota Prius, which sold 42 cars.

The growing popularity of hybrid cars in Ukraine is an important step towards the sustainable development of the automotive industry and reducing environmental impact. This positive trend demonstrates the growing interest of drivers in more environmentally friendly and efficient modes of transportation.
