The Ukrainian online classifieds platform OLX will now block all ads related to the sale of train tickets by Ukrzaliznytsia. This decision was reached in cooperation with the railroad company as part of a systematic approach to counteracting fraudsters selling fake tickets.

According to Ukrzaliznytsia, a number of measures have already been introduced to complicate the activities of ticket fraudsters and limit their opportunities. The measures include blocking ads for the sale of railway tickets on OLX and the inability to post new ads. Yevhen Lyashchenko, Chairman of the Board of Ukrzaliznytsia, expressed his gratitude to the OLX management for their prompt response and assistance in the fight against fraudsters.

Mr. Lyashchenko emphasized that a significant number of ticket ads were related to unscrupulous sellers who sell fake tickets or do not even send tickets to their customers. He expressed his condolences to such buyers and emphasized the importance of joint efforts to combat this phenomenon.

Ihor Syrovatko, OLX representative in Ukraine and Central Asia, noted that the platform always responds to possible violations on its website. The first 20 ads for the sale of railway tickets have already been blocked, and an algorithm has been developed to prevent the placement of similar ads in the future.

Ihor Syrovatko emphasized that the OLX team is constantly improving its algorithms and moderation filters to ensure user safety and prevent possible violations. The platform assumes responsibility for providing a safe environment for its users.

Keeping in mind the previous steps taken by Ukrzaliznytsia in the fight against ticket fraudsters, such as blocking accounts of mass resellers and restricting sales for them, this joint initiative with OLX is another step in ensuring fair conditions for the purchase and sale of railway tickets.
