Sharp drop in raspberry prices in Ukraine

The price of raspberries in Ukraine has fallen sharply this week. The main reason for this decline is the rapid increase in the supply of remontant raspberry varieties from local farms.

According to the analysis of the EastFruit project, this series of events has become a landmark in the market.

Currently, raspberry producers sell their products on the market at a price of 50 to 90 UAH per kilogram. This price position is 20% lower compared to the last week.

The sharp decline in prices is due to a significant increase in the supply of remontant raspberry varieties from local farms. Previously, the limited supply of raspberries led to high prices for this berry for several weeks.

This week, however, almost all producers started active harvesting, which led to an increase in raspberry volumes on the market and resulted in a price drop.

It is important to emphasize that raspberry prices in Ukraine are currently 30% lower than in the same period last year. Most producers anticipate further price reductions for raspberries, given the increased supply from local farms.

The summer raspberry season, which is almost over, has impressed consumers with affordable prices. However, for producers, this season was the most unprofitable on record. Despite the interesting price dynamics, the raspberry market continues to change due to the dynamics of production and supply.
