Ukrgasvydobuvannya expands production: Two new high-performance wells are in operation

Ukrgasvydobuvannya, a part of Naftogaz Group, has put two new high-performance wells into operation, which together produce more than 430 thousand cubic meters of gas per day.

This was reported by the press service of Naftogaz.

The first well was discovered as an exploration well and reached a depth of 5,850 meters. This field was discovered 40 years ago, but after conducting comprehensive three-dimensional seismic surveys, geologists identified new promising areas for further exploration. Thus, it was decided to continue drilling.

Oleh Tolmachev, interim CEO of Ukrgasvydobuvannya, said that the second well was drilled at the field, which has been in operation for 55 years. Recently, production at this field has decreased significantly due to depletion. However, thanks to a new drilling program and the creation of 7 new production wells over the past year, this negative trend has been reversed and production has begun to grow.

"We continue to introduce new wells with high performance, striving to increase gas production in the country. The use of modern geological methods, late-stage field development, increased drilling efficiency and complex operations to increase production are the factors that help us revive 'old' assets," said Oleksiy Chernyshov, CEO of Naftogaz of Ukraine.

It is reported that both wells were put into operation independently by Ukrgasvydobuvannya: drilling was carried out by specialists of Ukrburgaz branch, and multi-stage operations on the gas distribution platform were carried out by specialists of UGV-Service.

It is important to note that Naftogaz of Ukraine plans to go through the next heating season without gas imports. To achieve this goal, the company intends to increase gas production by 1 billion cubic meters. Six new wells have already been put into operation.

Recently, Ukrgasvydobuvannya has started working with one of the most powerful wells in recent years, which is capable of producing 580,000 cubic meters of gas per day.
