Ukrzaliznytsia notes significant growth in freight traffic in August

Ukrzaliznytsia, a railroad carrier, reported a significant increase in freight traffic in August. Despite the decline in grain transportation, the company showed almost 14% growth in freight volumes.

This information was provided by the press service of Ukrzaliznytsia.

"In August, the volume of cargo transportation by Ukrzaliznytsia increased by almost 14%. This was made possible by the intensification of domestic transportation, including the transportation of construction materials to rebuild the country's infrastructure," the statement said.

At the same time, the growth of grain transportation in August was limited for objective reasons.

According to Yevhen Lyashchenko, Chairman of the Board of Ukrzaliznytsia, the blocking of seaports and the grain corridor, as well as the restriction of the capacity of European partners, led to a decrease in the export of Ukrainian cargo.

However, Ukrzaliznytsia notes its readiness to transport significantly more cargo and actively engage in the development of the necessary infrastructure, as well as to seek all possible ways for Ukrainian shippers to cooperate with European customers.
