Ukrainian Railways is preparing to launch a new train that will serve the route from Rava-Ruska station in Lviv region and will become a direct alternative for passengers traveling to Warsaw.
This was reported by the press service of Ukrzaliznytsia.
The Rava-Ruska station is resuming its work after more than two decades of interruption.
According to the CEO of Ukrzaliznytsia, last year the Cabinet of Ministers received an order to resume the operation of this station and launch a new train on the Rava-Ruska - Warsaw route. This route will provide passengers with an alternative rail connection to the Polish capital.
It is reported that more than 500 passengers will be able to use this new train in both directions every day. A convenient transfer to trains that will take passengers to Lviv will be organized at Rava-Ruska station.
Ukrzaliznytsia added that during the summer of 2023, 600 thousand passengers were transported by international flights. This is 48% more than the same figure for 2022. Currently, passenger trains from Ukraine run to Poland, Hungary, Austria, Slovakia, and Moldova.
The launch of the new route to Warsaw is an important step towards improving Ukraine's international connections and providing convenient transportation for passengers.
