Ukraine and South Korea sign agreement on soft loans to attract Korean investment

Ukraine and South Korea have officially signed an agreement that provides for the provision of preferential loans for the implementation of projects in Ukraine with the participation of Korean companies. This important event was recorded in the presence of the President of Ukraine and the Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport of the Republic of Korea.

The agreement provides for the provision of soft loans for the implementation of various projects in Ukraine with the active participation of Korean companies.

The agreement was signed on behalf of the Ukrainian government by First Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Economy of Ukraine Yulia Svyrydenko, and on behalf of the Korean side by Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Ukraine Kim Hyong-tae.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy expressed his gratitude to the Korean government for supporting Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity, as well as for allocating significant financial resources for the restoration and reconstruction of the country.

"I am grateful for the decision of the Government of the Republic of Korea to allocate financial support to Ukraine in the amount of USD 2.3 billion for reconstruction and restoration. This will be a significant incentive for the development of Ukrainian infrastructure," Zelenskyy emphasized.

In addition, the President called on Korean companies to actively work in the Ukrainian market and participate in the implementation of projects in such key sectors as nuclear and renewable energy, mechanical engineering, automotive, lithium mining, oil refining, green metallurgy, rail transport, water resources and local infrastructure.

Now, thanks to the signed agreement, Ukraine has the opportunity to attract foreign investment, which stimulates economic development and contributes to the modernization of important sectors. This cooperation with South Korea opens up new prospects for both countries in terms of trade and investment opportunities.
