Nestle plans to significantly increase production in Ukraine by 2024, despite its presence in Russia. This was announced by Alessandro Zanelli, CEO of Nestle in Ukraine and Southeast Europe, during the European Business Association (EBA) conference.
According to him, the company has already begun construction of a new factory in Volyn in 2022. The project is worth €42 million and is supported by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD). The new factory will specialize in the production of instant noodles and other food products.
Alessandro Zanelli emphasized that this year Nestle in Ukraine has already seen a steady double-digit growth in monetary terms, which is about 17%, compared to the average growth in the FMCG sector.
An important part of their success is the growth of exports. For example, the Lviv factory, which produces products under the Svitoch brand and other products, saw an increase of about 20% year-on-year. This is largely due to an increase in coffee exports to Bulgaria, as well as to the supply of confectionery products. At the Volyn factory, which produces cooking products, sauces and ketchups, exports grew by about 5%.
These steps demonstrate Nestle's confidence in the Ukrainian market and its willingness to continue developing its operations in Ukraine despite the geopolitical circumstances. The company plans to increase its production capabilities and make a significant contribution to the Ukrainian food industry.
