The Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine has started consideration of a concentration case related to the intention of CRH UKRAINE B.V., an Irish leader in cement production, to acquire shares and stakes in the Italian company PJSC Dickergoff Cement Ukraine and LLC with foreign investments Dickergoff /Ukraine/.

This was reported by the press service of the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine (AMCU).

The agreement provides for the acquisition by CRH UKRAINE B.V. of shares in PJSC Dickergoff Cement Ukraine and a share in the authorized capital of LLC Dickergoff /Ukraine/, which will result in exceeding 50% of the votes in the supreme governing bodies of each of these companies.

This Irish company, CRH UKRAINE B.V., is a major player in the production of cement and construction materials on the world market. The acquisition of shares and stakes in Dyckerhoff Cement Ukraine is a strategic move aimed at strengthening their position in the Ukrainian market and expanding their business in this part of the world.

It is worth noting that this process implies a review of the activities of CRH UKRAINE B.V. in accordance with the laws on competition and monopolies of Ukraine. In order to ensure fair competition and preserve the interests of consumers, the Antimonopoly Committee must conduct an objective review of this transaction.

Based on the results of the review, it will be determined whether CRH UKRAINE B.V. will receive a merger clearance for the acquisition of shares in the Ukrainian company PJSC Dickerhoff Cement Ukraine and Dickerhoff /Ukraine/ LLC and how this may affect the construction materials market in Ukraine.
