Ovostar Union: reduced production but increased exports of eggs

Domestic agricultural holding Ovostar Union, which specializes in the production of chicken eggs and egg products, reported a decline in egg production, but is impressive in terms of export growth in the first nine months of 2023.

During this period, Ovostar Union produced 1.15 billion eggs, which is 3.4% less than in the same period last year. This information was provided by the company, which is the leader in egg production in Ukraine.

Sales of eggs for the period January-September 2023 decreased by 10.9% and amounted to 734 million units. Despite the decline in domestic sales, the volume of egg exports increased by 25.6% year-on-year, reaching 280 million units.

The share of exports as a percentage of total eggs sold amounted to 38%, which is up from 27% in January-September 2022, indicating a significant increase in egg exports.

As of September 30, 2023, the total number of chickens in the Ovostar Union farm was 7.42 million, which is 8.5% more than at the same date last year. Of these, 6.28 million were laying hens, which is 9.2% more than in the same period in 2022.

Despite the decline in domestic production, the company is actively developing exports of its products and confirming its position in the egg and egg products industry.
