Shortage of railcars and tanks

Representatives of export industries in Ukraine have expressed concern over the insufficient number of railcars and tanks in the operating fleet of Ukrzaliznytsia. This was reported by Valeriy Tkachev, deputy director of the company's commercial department.

Representatives of the cement industry complain about the reduction in the number of cement carriers in Ukrzaliznytsia's fleet and offered to repair cement carriers to meet the needs of the industry.

In particular, the oil and fat industry lacks tanks for the transportation of vegetable oil. This is due to the change in the direction of exports and the formation of queues at the border. Currently, almost 500 tankers of oil are expected to be transferred at the Izov-Grubieszów junction.

Consumers of freight services also called on Ukrzaliznytsia not to raise tariffs for freight transportation, which the company initiates. Currently, companies are actually operating at a loss and may not be able to cope with further price increases.

Oleksandr Kalenkov, President of Ukrmetallurgprom, noted that Ukrzaliznytsia is not focusing on increasing transportation and developing its service, which leads to a steady decline in transportation. In such circumstances, the constant increase in transportation tariffs has no positive effect, as the funds are spent without any real results.

This situation is extremely important for exporters and industries that depend on reliable freight transportation. A shortage of railcars and tanks can complicate their business processes and affect the country's economy as a whole.
