The Ukrainian Grain Association expresses serious concerns about the possible consequences of the introduction of new grain export rules, which, according to them, could lead to a complete halt in exports. The Association appealed to the members of the Verkhovna Rada and the government, calling for the adoption of draft laws 10168-2 and 10169-2 without prior consultation with business associations.

According to the press service of the UGA, the introduction of these draft laws without proper discussion may lead to the introduction of rules that will be unenforceable and inapplicable, causing paralysis in the grain market and a complete halt to exports.

The UGA is particularly concerned about the possibility of establishing minimum prices for grain exports, pointing out that this could lead to unenforceable mechanisms that distort real prices on the world market.

UGA representatives emphasize that recent government regulations on agricultural export rules should be tested for effectiveness without hampering Ukraine's important grain exports. They express hope that the new rules will facilitate the work of exporters who comply with the law and bring foreign currency back to the country.

The UGA calls on the government and MPs to abandon the new rules, as it could lead to a halt in exports and huge losses for farmers, threatening them with bankruptcy.
