Potato prices in Ukraine are twice as high as last year and continue to grow rapidly

Potato producers in Ukraine continue to steadily increase prices for their product, explaining this by the increased demand from wholesalers and retailers who are now actively purchasing potatoes for long-term storage.

According to ProAgro Group, potato prices increased by an average of 20% this week, ranging from UAH 10-14/kg. Producers point out that this price increase was made possible by high demand and limited supply from small farms due to unfavorable weather conditions that made it difficult to export products to the market.

It is worth noting that today potato prices in Ukraine are on average twice as high as in the same period last year. It is important to note that the price increase did not lead to a decrease in demand for potatoes, which may lead to new attempts by farmers to further increase prices next week.
