Energy saving is important: Ukraine broke electricity consumption records in December

In December of this year, Ukrainians witnessed record levels of electricity consumption. This was announced by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal, who pointed out that on December 7 and 11, the highest electricity consumption rates since the beginning of the heating season were recorded.

Expressing concern, the Prime Minister called on citizens to use electricity reasonably, particularly during peak hours in the evening and morning. "Reasonable consumption will help to balance the power system and avoid scheduled outages," he emphasized.

Shmyhal also expressed confidence that Ukrainians will be able to repeat last year's victory in energy saving, taking into account the fact that Russian intentions to plunge Ukraine into darkness were refuted thanks to the nation's solidarity.

The Prime Minister emphasized that Ukraine is facing a steady winter temperature regime accompanied by an increased load on the energy system. At the same time, the enemy, trying to inflict the greatest damage, has caused a power shortage, which Ukraine is compensating for by attracting emergency assistance from neighboring countries.
