In 2023, Ukraine demonstrated incredible success in agriculture, harvesting a record grain crop per hectare. This was announced by Mykola Solskyi, Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, emphasizing that such impressive results were made possible by the heroic work of farmers.

Even amidst the military conflict, most farmers chose to continue their activities, and this had a decisive impact on the final figures. The high level of yield per hectare recorded this year was a record for the entire history of agriculture in Ukraine.

Mr. Solsky emphasized the role of favorable weather, but the dedicated work of farmers was also important, as they made this significant achievement possible in a difficult year. According to the Ukrainian Grain Association, the total harvest of grains and oilseeds could increase to 81.6 million tons.

Especially in the context of a full-scale invasion and war in Ukraine, the assistance of international partners, in particular aimed at supporting the smallest farmers, plays an important role in supporting the agricultural sector.

Presenting plans for the future, Solsky said that in 2024, farmers' support programs will continue, including affordable loans at 5-7-9 percent and a grant program for the development of horticulture, greenhouse farming and processing.

As of the end of November, Ukrainian farmers harvested 75.7 million tons of grains and oilseeds, which confirms the record yields for the year.
