Energy independence: Czech Republic breaks its dependence on Russian gas

Czech Prime Minister Petr Fiala announced his country's success in achieving energy independence from Russian gas. This message was posted on his personal Twitter account.

Fiala emphasized that last spring, the Czech Republic faced the threat of a natural gas shortage, which jeopardized the country's energy security due to its dependence on Russia. However, the government did not waste time and took a number of strategic measures to ensure a sustainable energy policy.

One of the key steps in this direction was the opening of a liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminal in the Netherlands, which, according to Fiala, is capable of supplying a significant portion of the Czech Republic's gas needs. This strategic decision contributed to the expansion of supply sources and diversity of fuel resources.

As a result of these measures, the Czech Republic has successfully made the transition and found itself in a situation where it is completely free of dependence on Russian gas. This achievement is an important step in strengthening the country's energy security and reducing its vulnerability to energy fluctuations in the global market.
