Car boom: Ukrainians bought almost 200 thousand used foreign cars

This year, Ukrainians have shown an impressive interest in used foreign cars, buying almost 191 thousand cars imported from abroad. This is significantly higher than the volume of new car sales over the same period, according to the Ukravtoprom industry association.

The average age of these used cars that entered the Ukrainian fleet in 2023 is 10.3 years, which indicates a significant variety and differences in years of operation.

The overall distribution of fuel types is striking: gasoline cars account for 45% of all cars sold, diesel cars 33%, electric cars 14%, cars with gas-cylinder equipment (LPG) 5%, and hybrids 3%.

In detailing the statistics, the association reported that among gasoline cars, the leader in 2023 was the Volkswagen Golf, which confirms its popularity among Ukrainian motorists.

However, as for diesel and CNG cars, the Renault Megane is the first to come out on top, having become the model of choice in this segment.

In the electric car category, the Nissan Leaf remains the clear leader, confirming its recognition and attractiveness to Ukrainian buyers.

Finally, in the hybrid segment, the Ford Fusion US is gaining ground, recognized as a popular and desirable model among car buyers. Ukrainians continue to trust these reliable and efficient automotive brands, adding to the diversity of the country's roadways.
