Ukraine is open for US business

In an effort to attract U.S. investors to participate in the privatization process, Ukraine has asked the Joe Biden administration for support, U.S. Special Representative for Ukraine's Economic Recovery Penny Pritzker said at a press conference in Kyiv.

Pritzker noted that Ukrainian leaders have expressed plans for privatization and called on the United States to help attract American companies, and the administration is ready to provide such assistance.

However, in putting forward this initiative, three conditions were named that must be met to successfully attract American and Western investors.

First, Ukraine needs to provide high-quality "due diligence", i.e., full information about the business object so that any foreign company can thoroughly understand the details of what it is investing in.

The second condition is that the investor must understand the regulatory environment and the state of the industry as a whole, including the identification of regulators, rules and reputation of partners, which may affect the company's decision.

Pritzker emphasized that foreign companies considering investing in Ukraine should adhere to international standards and take into account the risks, as they have a reputation around the world.
