Ukraine is considering providing European companies with access to its gas storage facilities to store up to 10 billion cubic meters of gas. This was announced by Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal during a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers.

Shmyhal emphasized that Ukrainian gas storage facilities already store a significant amount of gas, namely 2.5 billion cubic meters, from foreign companies. He expressed an ambitious plan to turn Ukraine into a real "gas safe" in Europe, which will help avoid energy crises and rapidly rising gas prices during the heating season.

The main goal of the initiative is to ensure reliable and stable storage of gas reserves to ensure Europe's energy security. Ukraine is already an important player in the gas market and is ready to expand its role by providing additional gas storage capabilities.

Shmyhal's initiative emphasizes the strategic importance of Ukraine as a reliable partner for Europe in the gas sector. The transition to more active involvement of European companies is of interest and may be an additional step in the development of energy cooperation between Ukraine and the European Union.

It is noted that the Ukrainian initiative has the potential to positively affect the stability of the European energy market and help ensure reliable access to gas reserves in the event of potential crises.
