The Ukrainian postal company Ukrposhta has announced ambitious plans to open freight offices across the country to improve customer service. According to the report, by the end of 2024, such offices are planned to be installed in 41 regional centers of Ukraine. They are already available in Kharkiv at 118 Heroiv Kharkiv Avenue.
The decision to expand the network of cargo offices was made based on an analysis of the needs of Ukrposhta's customers and partners. The company aims to respond to the demand for services aimed at receiving and delivering shipments without unnecessary queues and hassles associated with paying utility and other bills. In particular, the innovation is aimed at making life easier for Ukrainian entrepreneurs who regularly send large volumes of cargo.
Ukrposhta's cargo offices will provide a range of services, including acceptance and delivery of parcels weighing up to 30 kg and with a maximum side of 200 cm both in Ukraine and abroad. Cash on delivery and packaging purchases will also be available. The company is also considering raising the weight criteria and working without weight restrictions.
The company has already reformatted 13 cargo departments at its facilities in Kharkiv, Odesa, Khmelnytsky, and Chernivtsi. Over the next year, the bank plans to open 41 new cargo branches in regional centers across the country. Further expansion of the network will cover other key cities of Ukraine with a population of more than 80 thousand people.
The new freight branches will have a specially equipped front line for accepting small shipments and a ramp that will allow 5- and 10-ton trucks to drive up. Yosyp Bornak, Ukrposhta's Deputy CEO for Network Development, emphasized that the innovation is aimed at meeting customer demand by providing quality service and accelerating logistics processes through container exchange.
