The European Business Association (EBA) has expressed its strong opposition to the government's draft law No. 10449 aimed at strengthening mobilization and called on the Verkhovna Rada to reject it without necessary adjustments due to its controversial provisions. The business community also called for consideration of introducing an additional tool for labor reserve.

The EBA press service emphasizes that the efficient operation of the economy is critical both for the country as a whole and for Ukraine's victory. The work that is directly related to the functioning of businesses in the country that pay taxes, create jobs, pay salaries and contribute to various spheres.

"Undoubtedly, in the context of a prolonged war, support for the military front is extremely important and necessary. However, it is important to strike a balance between supporting the military front and an efficient economy. These areas should exist in parallel, because one cannot exist without the other," the EBA emphasizes.

The organization points to the need for active business and new investments to ensure Ukraine's victory. According to the Central Interregional Department of the State Tax Service, in November alone, big business paid almost UAH 27 billion to the state budget, which demonstrates the importance of its contribution to supporting the Armed Forces.

According to the EBA, human resources are currently a key issue for the economy and the army. The organization emphasizes that the government's draft law No. 10449 on mobilization was reintroduced to the Verkhovna Rada on January 30 this year.

"Business has analyzed the draft in detail, and many of its provisions raise questions. In fact, this document is a duplicate of the draft law No. 10378, which the business has already expressed its concern about, especially because of its possible violation of the Constitution of Ukraine and its possible negative consequences for the economy," the EBA said.

The business believes that it is important to create balanced and workable regulations that will not lead to paralysis of a part of the country. The EBA calls for a conscious approach to the government's draft law on mobilization to avoid a shutdown of the country and, in particular, its economy.
