Ukraine completes the arrangement of the automobile checkpoint on the border with Reni

In January, it was reported that the Reni border crossing point was completed. This information was announced by Deputy Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine Serhiy Derkach during a meeting in Brussels dedicated to the development of Ukraine's export opportunities. The discussion was held with the participation of representatives of Moldova and Romania and the European Commission and the United States.

The main focus was on the implementation of the first stage of agreements on the launch of the "green corridor" between the Reni (Ukraine) - Giurgiulesti (Moldova) - Galati (Romania) checkpoints. Together with the State Agency for Reconstruction, the works at the Reni automobile checkpoint are being completed for joint customs and border control with Moldova.

Serhiy Derkach noted: "To create the possibility of joint control between Ukraine and Moldova, we have actually completed the repair of the Reni checkpoint, where the services of both countries will work." He also noted the plan to hold working meetings with Moldovan and Romanian colleagues to discuss customs clearance and staffing.

At the moment, work with international partners on the further development of the Reni checkpoint is ongoing. Also during the meeting, the Romanian side confirmed the further development of the port of Constanta to increase export capacity, for which international financing has already been provided.

It should be noted that in October 2023, the Ministry of Reconstruction began negotiations with Moldova and Romania to create a "green corridor" between the Reni (Ukraine) - Giurgiulesti (Moldova) - Galati (Romania) checkpoints to facilitate the rapid movement of goods and exports of Ukrainian agricultural products.
