As part of the Economic Support for Ukraine project, the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) has purchased 85 grain cars for the well-known Louis Dreyfus (LDC), which is one of the leading exporters of Ukrainian grain and oilseeds among international players. This was reported by the USAID press service.
The first twenty railcars have already been delivered to the company's elevator. The use of these additional railcars is expected to increase annual grain exports by 110,000 tons and expand sales regions, including those from which grain has not been exported before.
USAID emphasizes that this initiative is aimed at improving procurement conditions, which directly benefits local farmers.
It is noted that Louis Dreyfus exports grain crops to Asia, Africa, and Europe. This initiative became part of the Agricultural Resilience in Ukraine (AGRI-Ukraine) program implemented by USAID to mitigate the effects of the global food crisis, exacerbated by Russia's war against Ukraine.
In Ukraine, Louis Dreyfus owns 660 railcars, some of which are located in the temporarily occupied territories. This demonstrates the significant scope of the company's activities in Ukraine and the importance of investing in infrastructure to ensure the stability of export operations in the country.
