The Ukrainian government continues to move forward with the expansion of e-procurement. On February 9, a decision was passed that requires public institutions to conduct public procurement through the well-known electronic platform Prozorro Market. This new initiative aims to simplify food procurement procedures.

This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Economy. In particular, the electronic catalog includes a wide range of products - from meat and dairy products to vegetables and fruits.

Prozorro Market, a part of the Prozorro system, has already become an important tool in public procurement. This platform allows procurement through simplified procedures, which saves time and resources for customers. According to Yevhen Yakubovsky, Director of the State Enterprise Professional Procurement, which administers Prozorro Market, in 2023, every third procurement was made through this platform, and the volume of food procurement exceeded UAH 2 billion.

Government agencies that fall under the new initiative are required to conduct public procurement through Prozorro Market for food purchases of UAH 100,000 or more. This will avoid unnecessary bureaucracy and increase transparency in the procurement process.

In addition, the government has adopted a number of measures aimed at banning procurement from individuals and legal entities from Russia, Belarus and Iran. This decision takes into account the national interests and security of the country, particularly in the context of geopolitical tensions.

Overall, the introduction of the new procurement rules through Prozorro Market reflects the government's strategic focus on modernizing and improving the public procurement system in Ukraine. This is an important step in strengthening the economy and increasing the efficiency of public resource management.
