Government allocates over UAH 17 billion for road construction

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has allocated more than UAH 17.104 billion to create a new budget program "Development of the network and maintenance of public roads of national importance". This was announced by the representative of the Cabinet of Ministers Taras Melnychuk.

These funds are to be used for the development and maintenance of public roads of national importance. They were transferred to the Road Fund in previous years and remained unused in 2023.

The government also approved the Procedure for the use of these funds in 2024. It provides for clear goals and objectives for the use of budget funds, as well as their distribution in different areas.

In November 2023, the Minister of Finance of Ukraine Sergii Marchenko said that in 2024 all revenues from the state road fund would be used for defense. However, the road sector will continue to receive funding.

The road sector will be financed in 2024 in various ways: using the remaining funds from the state road fund, the reserve fund of the Ukrainian government, as well as international financial organizations and partner governments.

This decision is important for the maintenance and development of the country's road infrastructure, which is essential for the convenience and safety of road traffic for all citizens.
