At its last meeting on March 12, the Cabinet of Ministers decided to improve the eRobota program aimed at supporting agricultural entrepreneurs operating in the horticulture and greenhouse sector. According to the innovations, the state will now finance 70% of the cost of each project, leaving 30% for the entrepreneur.

This was announced by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal, who emphasized that authorized banks will monitor the targeted use of funds. This will allow farmers to use the support more efficiently, the Prime Minister said.

In particular, projects that will contribute to the creation of new jobs and fulfillment of conditions will be exempt from repayment.

The agricultural sector is key to the country's economy and accounted for more than 60% of Ukraine's exports in 2023. In this regard, the Prime Minister noted that the state continues to help Ukrainian farmers, and also noted the successful implementation of the eRobota program for the development of horticulture and greenhouse farming.

Taras Melnychuk, the government's representative in the Verkhovna Rada, explained that the updated rules for granting grants concern the criteria for determining their size, financing procedures, and disbursement of expenses. It is now stipulated that after financing projects, banks will conduct checks to ensure that actual purchases are in line with project plans.

In addition, requirements for reporting and confirmation of the use of grant funds have been established, including informing the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and the bank about the successful completion of the project and fulfillment of the terms of the grant agreement. In case of early completion of the project, grant recipients are required to provide the bank with documentation confirming the payment of taxes and fees in the amount of at least half of the grant received.
