In connection with hydropiles, Ukrainian hydroelectric power plants produce a large amount of electricity

Due to the early hydroelectricity, Ukrainian hydroelectric power plants are now producing an extremely large amount of electricity - about 65 million kilowatt-hours daily, which is a record figure. This was announced by the general director of Ukrhydroenergo PJSC Ihor Syrota.

According to Syrota, such a record production of electricity became possible thanks to the early hydroelectricity, which contributes to more intensive work of hydroelectric power plants. He emphasized that this is a record amount of electricity produced in such a short period.

Over the past two years, flooding on the rivers of Ukraine has started much earlier than usual. As the general director of "Ukrhydroenergo" notes, previously water harvesting started in April, but now it starts already at the beginning of February.

Observations of hydropower engineers indicate that water resources are kept at the level of last year. This allows hydroelectric plants to continue to operate efficiently and generate electricity.

Ihor Syrota emphasized that this is a very favorable situation for the energy system, as stable electricity production is ensured. Currently, the water level in the reservoirs is within the design limits, which is an important factor for the further operation of hydroelectric power plants.

It should be noted that in Kyiv on March 16, the water level in the Dnipro River reached its absolute maximum since the beginning of 2024. However, emergency situations with flooding were not recorded, which is a positive aspect of this situation.
