Denmark continues its important role in supporting the energy sector of Ukraine by making a new contribution to the Energy Support Fund of Ukraine in the amount of EUR 5.3 million. The total amount of contributions from the Danish side to this fund reached more than 17 million euros, according to the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine.
"We are sincerely grateful to Denmark for its continuous support in the restoration of our energy industry. With joint efforts, we are becoming stronger", - noted the Minister of Energy of Ukraine Herman Galushchenko.
The Energy Support Fund of Ukraine was created on the joint initiative of the Minister of Energy of Ukraine Herman Galushchenko and the European Commissioner for Energy Kadri Simson in March 2022 with the aim of supporting the development of the energy sector of Ukraine.
At the moment, the total volume of contributions to the Energy Support Fund of Ukraine exceeds 433 million euros, taking into account the announced and approved amounts. The working group under the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine has already approved the requests of Ukrainian energy companies for the purchase of equipment, machinery and fuel for a total amount of more than 452 million euros at the expense of these funds.
It is worth noting that Denmark became the first donor to the Fund back in April 2022, demonstrating its constant support for the Ukrainian energy sector.
In particular, the Ministry of Energy and the Ministry of Climate, Energy and Utilities of Denmark concluded agreements on partnership in the field of renewable energy sources with a special emphasis on biogas. This direction will be included in the Ukraine-Denmark Energy Partnership Program (UDEPP), which will contribute to the further development of environmentally clean and sustainable energy in Ukraine.
