In May of this year, the Ukrainian fleet was significantly replenished with new battery-powered electric vehicles (BEVs). According to Ukravtoprom, 4,113 new electric cars were registered in Ukraine, which is 68% more than in May last year.

This month, the share of new electric BEVs among all registered cars was 16%, which is less than last year (23%).

According to statistics, the vast majority of registered electric cars were passenger cars - 4,025 units. Of them, 647 are new, and 3378 are used.

In the commercial electric vehicle sector, only 88 new units were registered, a small share of the overall statistics.

Among the most popular models of electric cars, which took the first positions in May, the top 5 included:

1. VOLKSWAGEN ID.4 - 110 units;
2. HONDA M-NV - 72 units;
3. NISSAN Ariya - 58 units;
4. BYD Song Plus - 45 units;
5. ZEEKR 001 - 32 units.

These data indicate the growing interest of Ukrainian consumers in electric vehicles, which is taking place in the context of the general trend to reduce emissions and increase environmental awareness. It is expected that this market will continue to grow in the future, in line with the general trends of fleet electrification.
