Decrease in demand for new cars in Ukraine: Which brands were chosen in June

In June 2024, the market of new cars in Ukraine experienced a significant decline. About 5,200 new passenger cars were registered during the month, which is 8% less compared to the same period last year. This is reported by "Ukravtoprom".

Analysts note that June 2024 was the first month this year when the demand for new cars showed negative dynamics in annual terms. Compared to May 2024, consumer activity on the car market decreased by 7%.

According to "Ukravtoprom" data, the biggest drop in sales of new cars was recorded only in January of this year. In June, the market continued its downward trend, reflecting the general instability of the economic situation and fluctuations in consumer demand.

The Japanese brand TOYOTA remains the leader in sales on the new car market in June with 853 registered units. For the first time, the BMW brand rose to second place, selling 545 cars. RENAULT took third place with 487 registered cars.

SKODA (278 cars) and VOLKSWAGEN (269 cars) also entered the top five. These brands continue to hold stable positions on the Ukrainian market due to their reliability and popularity among consumers.

The RENAULT Duster crossover, which received 447 registrations, became the bestseller in June on the Ukrainian market of new passenger cars. This model has repeatedly confirmed its popularity among Ukrainian motorists thanks to the combination of price and quality.

In general, since the beginning of 2024, more than 32,800 new passenger cars were registered in Ukraine, which is 21% more than in the same period of 2023. However, the negative dynamics of June indicate that the market needs further analysis and adjustment of the sales strategy.
