During the year of operation of the Ukrainian maritime corridor, regular air attacks by Russia caused serious damage to the port infrastructure of Odesa. Total losses are estimated at 0.5 billion US dollars, which is a consequence of the destruction of equipment and agricultural products.
Acting Minister of Agricultural Policy Taras Vysotsky announced this during the broadcast of the Yedyni Novyni telethon, as ProAgro Group informs.
According to Vysotskyi, regular attacks, which are aimed mainly at the port infrastructure, continue to cause significant losses. "These attacks not only destroy the grain that is stored in the territory of the ports. We also observed cases when tanks for sunflower oil and other agricultural products were damaged," he noted.
According to estimates, losses from the destruction of products and equipment for a year amount to almost 0.5 billion US dollars. These data reflect the scale of the problems faced by Odessa's port infrastructure during the war.
Taras Vysotsky emphasized that the Ukrainian authorities are sure of the need to compensate the damage caused by the aggressor country in the future. Liability for losses incurred must be compensated in accordance with international norms and standards.
In general, attacks on port infrastructure continue to be one of the key challenges for the economic stability of Ukraine, which is trying to maintain export chains and ensure food security.
