In August 2024, the Ukrainian passenger car market noted a significant increase in sales of Chinese cars. In total, more than 1,700 Chinese-made cars were sold in a month, which is 61% more than in August 2023. This is reported by the association "Ukravtoprom".

Of this number, 1,336 vehicles were new, showing a significant increase of 88% compared to the previous year. 371 units of used cars were sold, which is 6% more than in August last year. This indicates the growing interest of Ukrainian consumers in Chinese cars.

According to Ukravtoprom, Chinese passenger cars accounted for 16% of the total market of new passenger cars in August. In the segment of used cars that were registered for the first time in Ukraine, the share of Chinese cars was much smaller — only 1.4%.

It is especially worth noting that most passenger cars from China were electric cars. They accounted for 78% of the total number of Chinese cars sold. This emphasizes the growing popularity of electric transport among Ukrainian drivers.

Thus, the Ukrainian car market continues to show positive trends in relation to Chinese car brands, especially in the segment of new and electric cars. The increased interest in Chinese cars can be related to their competitive prices and modern technological solutions.

These trends indicate that Chinese automakers have significant potential for further expansion in the Ukrainian market. It is expected that this trend will continue in the future, which may affect the overall sales of passenger cars in Ukraine.
