Demand for Ukrainian apples is growing: prices are also going up

At the wholesale market of agricultural products "Shuvar" in Lviv there is an increase in prices for popular varieties of apples. Despite this, some types of fruit are even cheaper than in the previous season. The main reason for this is the higher yield and stability of supplies of Ukrainian products.

Tetyana Popovych, head of the marketing department of the "Shuvar" market, spoke about market trends, stressing that favorable weather conditions at the beginning of the season became an important factor in high yields. Especially positive dynamics are noted in the central and western regions of Ukraine, where weather conditions allowed farmers to collect a high-quality and abundant harvest.

As for product quality, it varies depending on the region of cultivation and storage conditions. Despite this, there is no shortage of apples on the market. Organic apples are especially popular this season, although their cost remains higher than that of conventional varieties. Consumers are increasingly paying attention to the environmental friendliness of products, which creates additional demand for organic fruits.

The main suppliers of apples to the "Shuvar" market remain traditional regions - Zakarpattia, Vinnytsia, Khmelnytskyi Oblasts and Bukovyna. However, farmers are increasingly expanding orchards in the south of Ukraine, where climatic conditions are also favorable for growing fruit. This expansion provides an opportunity to increase production volumes and ensure a stable supply.

Experts predict that, thanks to high yields and stable supplies, the demand for Ukrainian apples will continue to grow. Consumers increasingly choose domestic products that are of high quality and meet environmental standards.

Thus, the Ukrainian apple market shows positive dynamics, which contributes to the development of the agricultural industry and strengthening the position of Ukrainian producers on the domestic and international markets.
