The national energy company "Ukrenergo" received the first large transversal regulation transformer for one of the 750 kV substations as part of the REPOWER project, implemented with the support of the World Bank. This is reported on the company's official website.
The resulting transformer will significantly increase the reliability of electricity transmission from power plants to Oblenergo networks, which is important for the energy system of Ukraine. The new equipment will allow to increase the volume of electricity transmission during peak loads, which is especially relevant during periods of seasonal growth in energy consumption.
The installation of a powerful transformer will not only reduce operating costs, but will also ensure a stable power supply for approximately 300,000 consumers. This is an important step towards the modernization of the country's energy infrastructure, which needs to be updated to ensure uninterrupted and reliable electricity supply.
The press service of "Ukrenergo" informs that in the coming months, about 20 more powerful transformers are expected to arrive, which will also be purchased with the funds of the World Bank. This will significantly strengthen Ukraine's energy network and allow it to more effectively cope with the challenges facing the energy sector.
Financing of this project is carried out at the expense of a grant in the amount of 247 million dollars, provided by the Target Fund for Support, Restoration, Reconstruction and Reform of Ukraine (URTF). This fund is financed by 17 donors, including Canada, Sweden and Switzerland.
Thus, obtaining a new transformer is an important stage in the development of the Ukrainian energy industry, which will increase its reliability and efficiency. Positive changes in the energy sector will not only improve conditions for consumers, but also contribute to the economic growth of the country as a whole.
