For the first time, the Ukrainian agricultural holding Kernel will become a partner of the national pavilion of Ukraine at the 29th UN Climate Conference (UNCCD), which will be held from November 11 to 22, 2024 in the capital of Azerbaijan, Baku. According to the company's press service, this will be a significant event for the Ukrainian agricultural sector, which seeks to declare its contribution to the global fight against climate change.

The COP Conference is an annual international event that brings together world leaders to discuss and agree on steps to address climate challenges. It is expected that this year's event in Baku will bring together about 100,000 participants from 190 countries, who will consider opportunities for global cooperation in the field of ecology and sustainable development. Kernel's participation in the national pavilion of Ukraine will allow the international audience to present the achievements of Ukrainian agribusiness in the environmental field.

At the Kernel stand in the Ukrainian pavilion, the company will present its innovative approaches in the field of precision agriculture, in particular the use of Data Science, as well as regenerative practices and low-carbon processing processes of sunflower seeds. As the company notes, the use of such advanced methods helps to increase production efficiency and preserve natural resources, including the preservation of soil fertility and biodiversity.

Among the interactive solutions presented at the stand will be the Scouting application - Kernel's own development, which allows you to track sunflower yields and plan agricultural operations. This demonstrates the company's commitment to innovation focused on efficiency and environmental sustainability, and is a confirmation of its leadership in the use of technology in the agricultural sector.

Director of communications and interaction with the government of Kernel, Kateryna Spivakova, emphasizes that Ukraine has great potential not only for ensuring food security in the world, but also for achieving ecological balance thanks to its unique natural conditions and fertile soils. According to her, even in the conditions of military challenges, Ukrainian farmers continue to follow the principles of sustainable development, which contributes to Ukraine's stability and integration into the European community.

As part of the conference on November 18, Kernel will hold several discussion panels in the Ukraine pavilion. Among the topics are the role of the Ukrainian agricultural sector in global climate processes, the impact of the Ukrainian agricultural industry on European integration processes, and the prospects for the development of low-carbon agriculture. Ukrainian and international experts, government officials and representatives of the European Commission will take part in the discussions.

Marta Trofimova, head of Kernel's sustainable development department, emphasized that the company's participation in SOR29 is a key opportunity to demonstrate the innovative and environmentally responsible approach of the Ukrainian agricultural sector on the world stage. "We strive to show that Ukrainian agribusiness can be a reliable partner in achieving the goals of the Paris Agreement," she said.
