In October 2024, the Ukrainian fleet was replenished with more than 1.9 thousand hybrid cars, which is 7% more than in the same period last year. Such data were reported by the association "Ukravtoprom". This growth reflects a steady trend towards increased demand for cleaner cars, especially in the face of rising fuel prices and the desire of many drivers to reduce the environmental impact of their vehicles.
According to Ukravtoprom data, of all hybrid cars registered in October, the share of new cars was 63%, which is higher than last year's figure of 59%. This indicates an increase in interest in new models that are equipped with modern technologies and have increased energy efficiency.
Among new hybrid cars, Toyota RAV-4 became the absolute leader in October with 261 registered copies. The model is known for its reliability, capacity and economy, which makes it an attractive choice for Ukrainian drivers. Nissan Qashqai came in second place in terms of popularity with 82 registered cars. This is a compact crossover that attracts consumers thanks to the combination of power and economy. Rounding out the top three is the Toyota Yaris Cross, which has gained popularity among those who appreciate the maneuverability and compactness of city cars — 79 such cars were registered in October.
In addition to new cars, a significant part of the replenishment of the fleet is made up of used imported hybrids. The most popular among such cars was the Ford Fusion US, which was registered in the amount of 54 units. At the same time, Ukrainian drivers still actively choose the classic Toyota Prius, which was registered in 46 copies. The three most popular used hybrids are closed by the Toyota RAV-4 with 38 registered cars.
Experts note that the popularity of hybrid cars is growing not only due to economic advantages, but also due to the favorable environmental policy of the state. Many drivers see the purchase of hybrid cars as a way to contribute to reducing CO₂ emissions and support environmentally conscious initiatives.
Thus, the growth of registrations of both new and used hybrid cars shows the stable interest of Ukrainians in ecological transport. This trend is likely to continue in the future, contributing to the further growth of the hybrid car market in Ukraine.
