About 40% of the goods and products used by McDonald’s in Ukraine are imported from abroad. At the same time, 60% of all products are manufactured within the country. This was stated by Yulia Badritdinova, CEO of McDonald’s in Ukraine, in an interview with Forbes Ukraine.
“A significant part of McDonald’s suppliers in Ukraine have production facilities in the country, but they are large international companies. Thanks to this, if necessary, they can supply products from abroad,” Badritdinova noted.
One example is the situation with the supplier of salads for burgers, the Green Factory company. During the fighting, the enterprise suffered minor damage, which forced the company to import salads from Poland for a while. Currently, production at the Ukrainian base has been fully restored.
In order for a company to become a McDonald’s supplier, it is necessary to go through a long verification process. According to Badritdinova, this can take up to three years. During this period, compliance with standards, product quality and other criteria are assessed.
McDonald’s actively supports the development of local production, but to ensure product quality, it adheres to international standards. This allows the network to operate stably even in difficult conditions.
Despite the challenges faced by business in Ukraine due to military operations, the company demonstrates flexibility and prioritizes providing consumers with high-quality products.
