In Ukraine, 130 medical facilities will be equipped with solar power plants: a new step towards energy independence

As part of the implementation of the HEAL Ukraine program, the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, in cooperation with the World Bank and the Council of Europe Development Bank, announced the installation of solar power plants at 130 primary care medical facilities. This initiative is aimed at increasing energy independence and ensuring stable operation of medical facilities even in conditions of energy challenges. This is reported by the Government Portal.

The installation of photovoltaic power plants includes the installation of solar panels, inverters and batteries. This set of equipment will allow health care facilities to reduce electricity costs and ensure autonomous operation during possible power outages. This approach will be an important contribution to the stability of medical services, especially in regions affected by the war.

In addition to equipping with solar power plants, the HEAL Ukraine program includes the reconstruction of five medical facilities. Among them are the Irpin Central City Hospital and primary health care centers in Bobrovytsia, Kozyatyn, Nosivka, and center No. 4 in Vinnytsia. The reconstruction involves the modernization of infrastructure, the creation of comfortable conditions for patients and medical staff.

The investment component of the program covers a wide range of initiatives to improve the material and technical base of medical institutions. In particular, new vehicles have already been purchased for 250 primary health care centers. It also provides for the supply of modern IT equipment, the implementation of digital solutions for the eHealth system, and the updating of technologies for medical institutions.

By the end of 2024, it is planned to supply rehabilitation equipment to 194 medical institutions throughout Ukraine. This will help significantly expand the capabilities of restorative medicine and provide patients with the necessary rehabilitation support. In addition, medical institutions will receive 259 modern hematology analyzers, which will improve diagnostic capabilities on the ground.

This large-scale program is an important step in increasing the efficiency of medical institutions in Ukraine. The implementation of energy and technological solutions will ensure the uninterrupted provision of medical services, the creation of modern infrastructure, and the improvement of conditions for patients and medical staff.
