Private solar power in Ukraine: capacity exceeds 1.5 GW

In Ukraine, the total capacity of solar power plants (SPPs) installed by private households has reached a significant figure of over 1.5 GW. This result demonstrates the active introduction of renewable energy sources among the population, which is confirmed by data published by the consulting company Expro.

A detailed analysis of the regional situation shows that the number of private SPPs varies significantly depending on the region. In particular, the leader in the number of installed stations is Dnipropetrovsk region, where there are 7,873 units. In contrast, the smallest number of installations was recorded in Kherson region — only 500.

Complete data on the total capacity of private SPPs are available for a limited number of regions. For example, in the Transcarpathian region, there are 5,242 stations operating, providing 146.7 MW, while in the Kyiv region - 5,099 stations with a total capacity of 125 MW. The situation is similar in the Kirovohrad region, where 3,080 installations produce 87.2 MW.

At the same time, in some regions, such as Ternopil, Zaporizhia, Donetsk and Luhansk regions, information on the number and capacity of stations is currently unavailable. This may be due to the difficult situation in these regions or insufficient access to data.

A significant trend remains the growing popularity of hybrid solar power plants, which allow households to simultaneously meet their own electricity needs and use backup energy sources. This is especially relevant for regions with unstable energy supply.

Regional statistics confirm the high interest in the development of solar energy: Chernivtsi region has 3,100 installations, Ivano-Frankivsk region - 5,047, Lviv region - 2,722. At the same time, Volyn and Rivne regions demonstrate moderate results with 1,500 and 1,245 stations, respectively.

These indicators indicate a gradual transition of Ukrainian households to environmentally friendly technologies. The development of private solar energy is becoming an important element of the country's energy independence strategy and stimulates the further implementation of "green" energy.
