In November 2024, the volume of gasoline supplies from Germany to Ukraine by rail increased by 10%, reaching 19.5 thousand tons. This is the highest figure since August, when, due to the expected increase in excise rates, the market imported record volumes of fuel.
This was reported by the publication *Enkorr* with reference to data from the A-95 Consulting Group. Experts note that, in addition to rail supplies, automobile supplies also increased by 15%, or 1.8 thousand tons. The main source of such supplies was the terminals of the Polish company Unimot. In November, the UPG network resumed fuel purchases from this trader, which had been suspended since February of this year.
The main source of German gasoline for Ukraine remains two oil refineries — Holborn Europa Raffinerie and PCK Schwedt. About 65% of all fuel is supplied from Holborn Europa, while the rest is from PCK Schwedt. It is noteworthy that all volumes from PCK Schwedt are purchased by the UPG network, which is historically the largest importer of German gasoline in Ukraine. In November, UPG received 6.8 thousand tons of fuel from this plant, and the network's total imports amounted to 9.6 thousand tons.
Among other leaders in terms of supply volumes are the OKKO and WOG networks, which imported 4.4 thousand tons and 4.3 thousand tons, respectively. Also, small volumes from Holborn Europa Raffinerie were received by BRSM-Nafta (1.5 thousand tons) and AZS Market (0.9 thousand tons).
Experts explain the increase in imports from Germany by the fact that gasoline consumption in Germany itself has decreased, and a surplus of the resource has formed on the European market. This creates favorable conditions for purchasing, reducing producers' premiums. At the same time, the excess of gasoline negatively affects the economics of European refineries, which are facing declining profitability.
It is expected that the fuel surplus in Europe will continue, which may lead to a further decrease in gasoline prices. This will contribute to the expansion of imports to Ukraine, ensuring competitive conditions for market operators and maintaining affordable prices for consumers.
