Ukrainians increasingly choose Chinese cars: leaders among models

In 2024, the Ukrainian passenger car market was significantly influenced by Chinese manufacturers: about 14.4 thousand cars were purchased from China, which is 18% more than in 2023. This trend indicates an increase in demand for vehicles from the PRC, especially among electric cars.

According to Ukravtoprom, among imported cars, 11 thousand were new passenger cars, which demonstrates an increase of 37% compared to the previous year. At the same time, the number of used cars decreased to 3.3 thousand units, which corresponds to a decrease of 20%.

Chinese cars in 2024 covered 16% of the new passenger car market in Ukraine, which indicates their popularity among Ukrainian consumers. In the used car segment, their share was smaller — only 1.5%, but even in this segment, interest from buyers is recorded.

A key characteristic of the Chinese auto industry that attracts Ukrainians is the emphasis on electric vehicles. About 82% of all imported cars from China were electric vehicles. This indicates the desire of Chinese manufacturers to meet the demand for environmentally friendly transport, which is becoming increasingly popular in the world.

The variety of models and technological progress of Chinese companies also contribute to their success. From affordable models to premium models, Chinese manufacturers are actively conquering the market, offering modern design, multifunctionality and competitive prices.

Ukrainians continue to look for optimal solutions for transportation, and Chinese cars are gradually becoming one of the key options. This confirms the trend of China's growing role in the global automotive industry and its influence on the Ukrainian market.
