New commemorative coin Let's hold the line! to the third anniversary of Russia's full-scale invasion

To mark the third anniversary of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the National Bank of Ukraine has introduced a new commemorative coin called "Let's hold the line!". This coin has become an important symbol of the Ukrainians' struggle for freedom and independence, and it is part of a series of coins dedicated to events that have become significant for the nation.

As Andriy Pyshny, Chairman of the National Bank of Ukraine, noted, the name of the coin "Let's hold the line!" reflects the mood of Ukrainians in this difficult time: "This call is understandable and resonates in the heart of every Ukrainian. The war continues, the struggle continues." All elements of the coin carry deep symbolism, emphasizing the unity and invincibility of the Ukrainian people.

The obverse of the coin depicts a group of Ukrainian defenders holding hands in a collective handshake, symbolizing unity. The entire composition of the background image represents schematic lines of defense and directions of combat operations, forming the image of the trident - the national emblem of Ukraine. This is an expressive sign of steadfastness and strength in the struggle for independence.

The reverse of the coin continues the theme of unity and strength: it depicts soldiers who are resolutely moving on the offensive. In the upper part of the coin, the inscription "LET'S HOLD ON TO THE STRIKE" is located in a semicircle, and next to it are stylized images of military equipment, symbolizing the power of the Ukrainian army. Behind the soldiers are silhouettes of civilians of various professions who work, help and donate every day for the sake of a common victory. These images emphasize the importance of the unity of the military and civilians in the fight for a common goal.

The coin was designed by Ukrainian artist Andriy Sahachy. Sculptors Volodymyr Atamanchuk and Anatoliy Demyanenko worked on creating its three-dimensional form, embodying the concept of unity and steadfastness in each element. These artists made a great contribution to the creation of the coin, which has become an important symbol of the Ukrainian struggle.

The commemorative coin "Let's Hold the Line!" was put into circulation on February 24, 2025. The denomination of the coin is 5 hryvnias. It is made of nickel silver, a material that ensures its durability and gives the coin an aesthetic appearance. The coin's circulation is limited to 50,000 pieces, and each of them will be packed in souvenir packaging.

The coin will be available for purchase in the NBU online store from February 25, 2025, as well as from distributing banks. All details regarding the start of the coin's sale will be announced on the official websites of the NBU online store and distributing banks. This will allow everyone who wishes to have this commemorative item as part of their collection or as a symbol of support for Ukraine in its struggle.
