Ukraine continues its humanitarian mission in Syria within the framework of the “Grain from Ukraine” initiative. Recently, the country, together with the UN World Food Program, delivered another batch of aid — 3,850 tons of flour, which should be used to supply local bakeries.
This amount of flour is aimed at supporting the Syrian population affected by the long-term conflicts. Thanks to this aid, local bakeries will receive the necessary raw materials for making bread, which is the main food product in the region.
This was reported by the Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine Vitaly Koval. He emphasized the importance of such supplies, which help ensure food security and stability in countries experiencing crises.
According to data, this batch of flour will be enough to feed almost 60 thousand people for six months. This scale of assistance is a significant contribution to improving the living conditions of the Syrian population and supporting the local economy by keeping bakeries operating.
This delivery is part of a broader program aimed at providing humanitarian assistance. 500 tons of wheat flour have already been shipped earlier, which helped to meet the food needs of 33,250 families. This sequence of deliveries demonstrates the ongoing dialogue and cooperation between Ukraine and international organizations in the field of food security.
The Grain from Ukraine initiative continues to demonstrate a high level of solidarity and mutual assistance between countries. Thanks to such actions, Ukraine not only contributes to the reconstruction of the affected regions, but also strengthens its position as a reliable partner in the global humanitarian sphere.
