In Ukraine, since the beginning of 2025, 91 companies have removed citizens of the Russian Federation from their owners, despite the current legislative ban. This is evidenced by Opendatabot data.
As of now, 88 such businesses continue to operate actively, and three more are in the process of being closed. In total, since the beginning of the full-scale invasion in Ukraine, 805 companies have already been recorded that have got rid of Russian influence, however, 8 cases of registration changes were recognized as illegal.
Territorially, the largest number of companies that changed owners is concentrated in Kyiv — 30 businesses, followed by: Odesa region — 9 companies, Kharkiv, Lviv and Vinnytsia regions — 7 each.
As for the areas of activity, wholesale trade is leading — 15 companies, followed by real estate transactions — 13, retail trade — 8, fisheries — 6, as well as the IT and consulting sector — 5 companies.
Among the companies that have lost the Russian trace, there are also those that actively participate in government tenders. For example, Tatneft-AZS-Ukraine has won 43 tenders worth over UAH 6.8 million since the start of the full-scale invasion. Other examples are MIREKTs with 4 tenders for UAH 122 thousand and VK Service Plus with 1 tender for UAH 57 thousand.
Analysts note that the process of depriving Russian owners helps companies not only legalize their activities, but also gain the opportunity to participate in government procurement, which opens up new financial opportunities and strengthens Ukrainian business.
